Richard Sauber Named 2007 Burton Award Winner

April 23, 2007 - Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP partner Richard Sauber today was named a 2007 Burton Award winner. The Burton Awards for Legal Achievement honors effective legal writing by law firm partners and law students who write in clear and understandable prose.

Mr. Sauber was chosen for his article "When Reporters Need Lawyers," which appeared in the February 20, 2006 edition of Legal Times. Mr. Sauber wrote the article based on his experience representing former Time reporter Matthew Cooper in special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation of leaks leading to the "outing" of CIA agent Valerie Plame.

Mr. Sauber and the other recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC on June 4, 2007. The guest speaker at the dinner will be Bob Schieffer, CBS News' chief Washington correspondent and the even Master of Ceremonies will be Bill Press, formerly of CNN's Crossfire.
