Bradford Berenson
General Counsel, TPG
Bradford (“Brad”) Berenson has, since March 2017, served as a Partner and the General Counsel of TPG. Before joining TPG, Mr. Berenson served as Vice President and Senior Counsel, Litigation and Legal Policy of The General Electric Company from October 2012 until February 2017. Prior to joining GE, Mr. Berenson was a litigation partner at Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, D.C., a global law firm he joined in 1993. Mr. Berenson was Associate Counsel to the President of the United States from 2001 to 2003. He is an Executive Fellow of the Berkeley Center for Law and Business and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Investment Council. Mr. Berenson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Yale College, summa cum laude, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, where he was Supreme Court editor of the Harvard Law Review. After graduating from law school, Mr. Berenson clerked for Judge Laurence H. Silberman of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and for Justice Anthony M. Kennedy of the United States Supreme Court.
