Kimberly Y. Chainey

Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, AptarGroup, Inc.

Kimberly (Kim) Chainey is an accomplished C-Suite executive and Chief Legal Officer with more than 20 years of experience as a strategic advisor, corporate governance expert, and risk manager for organizations operating in highly regulated environments with global footprints. She has served as an advisor for Boards and C-Suite executives of Global 100 and Fortune 500 companies, venture companies, and government entities in achieving their strategic objectives while balancing global risks. She has led legal, compliance, and government relations teams in global manufacturing, transportation, consumer products, pharmaceutical, and technology companies.

Ms. Chainey is currently the EVP, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of AptarGroup, Inc., (NYSE: ATR) a Fortune 850 company and a global leader in drug delivery, consumer products, and protection technologies. She is responsible for the company’s global legal affairs, compliance, and government relations functions.

Ms. Chainey previously served on the board of NeoPhotonics (NYSE: NPTN), a Silicon Valley optical components company which was the subject of a technology M&A transaction.

Prior to joining Aptar, Ms. Chainey was VP, General Counsel for Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC), a global business unit of Panasonic Corporation, a Global 100 company. She was responsible for PAC’s global legal affairs, regulatory, and government relations functions. She also served as an Associate General Counsel (M&A, Strategy and Innovation), at Avis Budget Group (ABG), where she supported key innovation and strategic initiatives such as autonomous vehicles, connected cars, and global intellectual property. Ms. Chainey also served at the Hershey Company, a Fortune 500 confectionary company as Associate General Counsel (International) and Associate General Counsel, (Global Operations and EMEA).

Ms. Chainey began her legal career as an associate at Morgan Lewis. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and is an Illinois registered in-house counsel.

Ms. Chainey has received numerous awards and has been listed as Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Women in Corporate America and Most Influential Black Lawyers in the United States. She was also named as one of New York City’s Top 100 Women Lawyers by Crain’s New York inaugural list of Leading Women Lawyers in New York City. Ms. Chainey is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Montclair Art Museum, a Board Member of DirectWomen and a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

Ms. Chainey earned her JD/MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, cum laude from Harvard University, Harvard-Radcliffe College.
